Porto Frailis

Porto Frailis is a cove-like beach with fine golden sand and turquoise water along southeastern Sardinia's coast. The arc of sand stretches roughly 200 meters and sits between rocky outcrops that frame the swimming area.

The beach developed significantly in the 1960s when Tortolì expanded its coastal facilities to serve the growing tourism in the Ogliastra region. This shift from a quiet fishing area to a modern beach destination shaped what it is today.

Fishing remains part of the daily rhythm here, with local boats launching from the shore to work the waters. This working tradition gives the cove a connection to the sea that goes beyond tourism.

The beach has a large parking area and offers rentals for umbrellas, loungers, and water sports gear like diving equipment and inflatable boats. Accessible ramps and pathways make it easy for visitors with mobility needs.

The place transforms completely from day to night, serving families and swimmers in daylight hours but becoming a music venue when darkness falls. This duality means the same spot offers two entirely different experiences.
