Golden Rule Seafood, Seafood restaurant and market in Palmetto Bay, US
Golden Rule Seafood combines a full-service restaurant with an adjacent market selling fresh fish, crabs, and shellfish directly to customers. The establishment offers both indoor seating and an outdoor deck for dining.
The business started in 1943 as a general store and later became a seafood market under Benn Mullins. A restaurant was added to the operation in 2014, expanding what the place offers.
The Mullins family, who work as local fishermen, supply fresh catches daily and shape the place's connection to South Florida fishing traditions. Visitors can see how the restaurant keeps these local practices alive in its daily operations.
The establishment accepts reservations and opens at 11 AM on weekdays and 9 AM on weekends. On warm days, arrive early if you prefer outdoor seating as the deck fills up quickly.
After a fire in 2022 destroyed the Grande Tiki Hut, the restaurant rebuilt with strong community support. The new Garden Tiki area emerged from this reconstruction effort.
