Cervejaria Trindade

Restoran-Cervejaria Trindade is a restaurant housed in a former convent building with multiple dining rooms decorated with 19th-century tile panels and modernist artwork. The establishment preserves the architectural character of its original structure while functioning as a dining venue.

The building began as a monastery in 1294 and transformed into Portugal's first brewery in 1836 following the dissolution of religious orders. This shift from religious use to industrial production marked a significant turning point in the site's history.

The dining rooms display artistic tile panels by Ferreira das Tabuletas depicting allegories of water, air, earth, and fire. These works remain visible to every guest and form an integral part of the dining experience here.

The kitchen serves traditional Portuguese dishes and seafood with ample room for different types of visitors and groups. It helps to be familiar with the layout of the various dining rooms to choose your preferred setting.

The restaurant maintains an art gallery within its premises and regularly hosts exhibitions of paintings and sculptures by contemporary artists. Guests can discover artworks while dining, adding an extra cultural element to their visit.
