Ancien Hotel Baudy

Ancien Hotel Baudy is a restaurant and art museum in the artist village of Giverny. Two dining rooms are decorated with late 19th-century photographs and overlook the Norman countryside.

The establishment opened in 1887 and quickly became a meeting point for artists including Monet, Cézanne, Renoir, Sisley, and Rodin. During this period, the place grew into a major hub for Impressionism in the region.

The place preserves the original artist studio with its glass roof, where painters gathered and shared their work during the Impressionist movement. This space shows how the artistic community here worked closely together and inspired one another.

The restaurant serves traditional French cuisine with two dining areas that can accommodate about 250 guests in total. Keep in mind that this is a working restaurant with museum elements, so making a reservation is recommended.

The place preserves authentic 19th-century furniture, including red and white checkered tablecloths that reflect the original look of the era. A rose garden on the hillside adds a quiet, personal character to the surroundings.
