Tour des Archives, Medieval keep in Vernon, France
The Tower of Archives is a round medieval fortress that rises in Vernon along the Seine. Its thick stone walls are characteristic of Norman fortification architecture from this period.
The tower was founded in 1123 under Henry I of England to protect Norman borders. It is one of the few surviving defensive structures from this era in the region.
