Eureka! Zientzia Museoa

Eureka! Zientzia Museoa is an interactive science museum in San Sebastián featuring eight thematic rooms with around 172 hands-on stations where children can experiment and learn. The exhibits cover physics, biology, and environmental science through direct participation and discovery.

The museum was established as the first hands-on science center in the Basque Country, addressing a gap in the region's educational offerings. It pioneered a new approach to how children engage with scientific concepts and discovery.

The exhibit labels appear in four languages – English, French, Spanish, and Basque – reflecting the diverse backgrounds of visitors who come from across the region. This multilingual approach helps families from different places feel welcome and included.

The museum offers free parking and has a cafeteria and picnic areas on the grounds for visitors. It is open Tuesday through Sunday, with extended evening hours on Fridays until 20:00, making it easy to plan a visit.

A three-meter-high astronomy observation tower lets visitors explore the night sky, while a 14-meter-tall glass chamber houses a Foucault pendulum. This unusual setup reveals how Earth rotates in a way that visitors can actually see happening.
