Oberpollinger spans seven floors and 34,000 square meters of retail space, featuring designer fashion collections for women and men from luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, and Dior, alongside a beauty department designed by architect John Pawson showcasing niche fragrance brands like Byredo and Le Labo.

Opened on March 14, 1905, by Hanseatic merchant family M. J. Emden & Sons and designed by architect Max Littmann, the building was completely destroyed by bombing in January 1945 before being reconstructed and reopened in 1954 with subsequent expansions over the decades.

Located in the pedestrian zone between Marienplatz and Stachus since the 1972 Olympics, Oberpollinger represents Munich's retail elegance by combining Bavarian tradition with contemporary urban lifestyle, attracting both local residents and international visitors during seasonal celebrations.

The store provides wheelchair accessibility and operates Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00, offering personalized services including private shopping assistance, clothing alterations, and chauffeur transportation arrangements for customers.

The roof terrace provides an outdoor relaxation space overlooking Munich, while the second floor houses Germany's first piercing studio integrated within a department store, operated in collaboration with Danish designer Maria Black.
