Fullon Hotel, Fulong
Fullon Hotel, Fulong is a hotel in Fulong Village, a small coastal settlement on the northeast coast of Taiwan, steps away from a long sandy beach. The property has rooms with sea or hillside views and an on-site restaurant, and it sits near the mouth of the Shuangxi River where it meets the ocean.
Fulong was a fishing village for generations, with residents depending on the sea and the nearby river for their livelihood. The arrival of the coastal railway line in the 20th century opened the area to day-trippers from Taipei and gradually shifted the local economy toward tourism.
Fulong is known across Taiwan for its long sandy beach, which draws crowds from Taipei on summer weekends. Guests at the hotel can walk to the shore in a few minutes and join locals renting paddleboats or sitting under beach umbrellas.
The hotel is a short walk from Fulong train station, which has direct connections from Taipei in about an hour. Summer weekends bring large crowds to the beach, so arriving on a weekday or early in the morning makes for a calmer stay.
Fulong beach is one of the few spots in Taiwan where visitors can rent bicycles right at the sand and connect to a cycling route that follows an old rail corridor inland. Many people combine a morning on the beach with an afternoon ride without needing any other transport.
