Wu Sheng Monastery, Buddhist monastery in Gongliao District, Taiwan
Located at 380 meters above sea level, Wu Sheng Monastery overlooks Fulong Beach and the Pacific Ocean from three mountain sides.
Master Hsin Tao established Wu Sheng Monastery in 1984 after spending two years in meditation retreat at the mountainous location.
The monastery focuses on teaching meditation practices and integrating Buddhist principles into daily life through educational programs and retreats.
Wu Sheng Monastery opens Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with access from Fulong Station through local transportation.
The main hall contains Taiwan's only left-facing jade Buddha statue, alongside 53 stupas and a 12-meter bronze Guanyin statue.
