Fulong Beach, Coastal beach in Gongliao District, Taiwan
Fulong Beach is a coastal stretch in Gongliao District that extends for several kilometers and is divided into inner and outer sections by the Shuang River as it flows to the Pacific Ocean. The two areas offer different conditions and experiences along the shoreline.
The beach was developed in the 1970s and later came under management of the National Scenic Area Administration. This transition established it as an important public coastal destination for the region.
The annual Hohaiyan Rock Festival draws tens of thousands of music fans each summer to experience local and international performers. This three-day event is deeply woven into the place's identity and shapes how the local community celebrates together.
The beach is easily accessible by train through Fulong Station or by bus routes 791 and 856. Those driving can use National Freeway 1 and Provincial Highways that lead directly to the beach.
The sand here has a golden hue that sets it apart from other beaches on the island. The coastline shifts gradually over time, creating different conditions for visitors from year to year.
