Museum of Ho Chi Minh City

The museum occupies a grand neoclassical building from 1885, featuring two stories spread across 1700 square meters with ornate European-style halls and staircases.

The structure initially served as the Museum of Commercial Trade under French rule before becoming the residence of Cochinchina's Governor and later President Ngo Dinh Diem.

The museum collections include archaeological artifacts, ceramics, traditional marriage customs displays, and extensive documentation of Vietnam's independence movement on the upper floor.

Located at 65 Ly Tu Trong Street, the museum maintains regular exhibitions with information in English and Vietnamese, accessible through their website hcmc-museum.edu.vn.

Three escape tunnels extend beneath the museum to Reunification Palace, constructed during President Diem's tenure for emergency evacuations during political instability.
