Vietcombank Tower, Commercial skyscraper in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Vietcombank Tower is a 40-story office building with a golden granite exterior framed by vertical metal ribs and a distinctive spire that rises above the surrounding cityscape. The structure contains modern office spaces arranged around a central core, with the building's form designed to reflect light along its entire facade.
Construction started in 2010 and finished in 2015, representing an important milestone in modern Vietnamese urban development and the country's growing financial sector. The project marked the first collaboration between renowned American architect César Pelli and a Vietnamese client.
The lobby features woven beech wood screens and green serpentine stone walls that reflect local design traditions and give visitors an immediate sense of Vietnamese craftsmanship upon entering.
The tower is located at Me Linh Square near the Saigon River and sits in the heart of District 1, making it easily accessible from central Ho Chi Minh City. Since the building serves primarily as office space, visitors can explore the main lobby and ground-level areas, though access to upper floors typically requires authorization.
The tower earned recognition from Vietnam's Ministry of Construction for its quality standards and modern design achievements. The golden granite facade was specifically engineered to reflect natural light throughout the day and reduce energy consumption in the office spaces.
