Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City, German office building in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Deutsches Haus is a modern office building in Ho Chi Minh City with 25 floors reaching 107 meters high. The glass facade was specifically designed for tropical climate conditions and provides approximately 39,000 square meters (420,000 sq ft) of office space for German and international companies.
Germany first acquired the land in 1960, but lost control during Vietnam's reunification in 1975. Decades later, the country regained usage rights in 2011 and constructed this modern building.
The building houses the German Consulate General along with trade associations and cultural institutions that foster connections between Germany and Vietnam. These organizations facilitate exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
The building is located on Le Duan Boulevard in District 1 and is easily accessible by the city's public transportation. The modern architecture with its glass facade is visible from outside, and the surrounding area offers restaurants and shops for visitors.
The building uses a double-skin glass facade system that maximizes natural light while significantly reducing energy consumption in the tropical climate. This technical solution makes it an example of climate-conscious construction in Southeast Asia.
