Smetanaq, Gallery and dining complex at Smetanovo nábřeží, Prague, Czech Republic.
Smetanaq is a restaurant and café housed in a multi-floor classical townhouse located at Smetanovo nábřeží. The space combines dining areas with exhibition galleries and design shops spread across different levels.
The building was constructed between 1846 and 1847 based on designs by architect Bernhard Grueber. It originally housed a ferryman's lodge at this location.
The space hosts exhibition areas and design shops where Czech artists display their creations and connect with the creative community. Visitors can experience the working artist culture while enjoying refreshments and meals.
The venue sits near Charles Bridge and is easily accessible on foot. Access is through the classical front facing the river, with different floors connected by stairs.
During renovation work, remnants of the original wall paint were discovered and incorporated into the current design. These historical traces connect the building's past with the modern Czech design visible there today.
