Topgolf is a large entertainment venue with three floors and 102 covered golf bays. Each bay has heating, three TVs, and space for multiple players, while special balls automatically track hits and keep score using computer chips.
Topgolf opened just before Christmas and immediately became a popular destination in Independence. The company chose this location over an offer from Cleveland because of its central position and proximity to major highways like I-480 and I-77.
The name Topgolf combines golf with the concept of reaching the top. Visitors use this place as a social gathering spot where people play, eat, and spend time together regardless of their golf experience. The venue draws different generations and interests into one lively space.
The venue offers nine different games to play in the golf bays. Restaurants and bars are located on each floor for food and drinks, and event spaces can be rented for groups and celebrations.
The venue employs 500 workers and contributes over 400,000 dollars annually in taxes to the city. This economic impact makes it a significant employer and investment point for future development in the area.
