Old Town Hall

The Old Town Hall is a four-story building with a central tower featuring Gothic architecture built from red brick and decorated with white stone details. Inside, the Regional Museum displays Gothic artwork, medieval paintings, sculptures, and objects that tell the story of the city across several centuries.

Construction began in 1233 and the building was completed in 1393, serving as the administrative core during a period of merchant power and city growth. This era marked the city's importance as a major trading hub connecting different regions.

This building served as the heart of civic and commercial activity, shaping how the city functioned for centuries. Today visitors can see how this role is reflected in its rooms and the way they connect to each other.

The observation area at the top of the tower offers views across the city and surrounding area. Climbing to the top is manageable for most visitors and rewards you with a panoramic perspective of where you are.

Inside the building is the Royal Hall where King Jan Olbracht died in 1501, marking a significant moment in Polish history. This room connects visitors directly to a dramatic event that changed the course of the kingdom.
