Ciel, Rooftop restaurant and café near Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens, Greece
Ciel is a rooftop restaurant and café with multi-level spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout. The windows offer direct views of the Acropolis and the Temple of Hephaestus.
The space opened in a restored building directly across from the Metropolitan Cathedral, which was established here in 1842. This transformation connected modern dining to the historic character of the old city.
The artist Ampe Fereira created large-scale paintings that decorate both the inside and outside of the space. These artworks give the place a distinctive character that goes beyond a typical dining venue.
The location sits at the corner of Mnisikleous and Mitropoleos streets in the heart of the old city, easily reached from major sites. Reservations are recommended, especially for groups or during busy times.
The AKRO Espresso Bar on the top floor provides a 360-degree view of Athens, including Lycabettus Hill and the Acropolis. This all-around perspective makes it a special vantage point for watching the city.
