Nacho Mama's
Nacho Mama's was a restaurant in Baltimore County serving American and Mexican food with an emphasis on generous portions and colorful decor. The interior featured high-top tables and booths arranged for easy conversation, while the menu offered tacos, burritos, nachos, and locally-inspired dishes in a MD-Mex style that combined traditional Mexican flavors with a Maryland touch.
The restaurant was founded more than 20 years ago by Patrick McCusker, an Irishman who decided to open a Mexican eatery in a traditionally Polish neighborhood. The original Canton location became a local institution that grew over the decades, eventually expanding to additional locations in Towson and beyond under the family's continued stewardship.
The restaurant held deep roots in the Baltimore community and reflected local tastes through its 'All Things Baltimore' theme. People gathered here to celebrate neighborhood traditions, local sports culture, and the shared values that made this a true gathering place for friends and families seeking connection.
The restaurant was easy to access and offered a relaxed setting suitable for groups and families without requiring reservations. Service was quick and helpful, with generally short wait times even during busy nights, and staff were familiar with the menu and quick to assist guests with their choices.
The restaurant was famous for its oversized 'hubcap margaritas' served in novelty glasses the size of hubcaps, an iconic tradition that kept visitors returning for decades. These signature drinks became so tied to the place that they were nearly as much a reason to visit as the food itself.
