Restaurant Desert de les Palmes
Restaurant Desert de les Palmes is an eating house in Benicàssim situated on a hillside around 425 meters (1,400 feet) above sea level with views toward the town, distant sea, and Columbretes Islands. The building includes two outdoor terraces with seating, a menu featuring Spanish fish and rice dishes, and a wine selection stored in a cellar.
The restaurant opened in 1967 and has remained in operation ever since. Two major fires struck the location in August 1985 and December 1992, both affecting the road access, yet the staff persisted and improved the establishment over time.
The restaurant sits in a mountain setting where visitors experience both traditional Spanish cooking and the rhythm of a quieter landscape. The space brings together people who come to share meals while taking in views of the sea and surrounding terrain, making food and place inseparable in the experience.
The location provides adequate parking nearby and sits conveniently close to other local points of interest and the beach. Opening hours are generous, extending longer during summer months to serve visitors from the surrounding area and tourists traveling through the region.
From the terrace it is possible to see the Columbretes Islands sitting on the horizon, a rare sightline from this elevated mountain position. This distant view of the island formations becomes one of the aspects visitors remember most about spending time at the location.
