Sheffield Botanical Gardens, Victorian botanical garden in Sheffield, England
The gardens spread across 19 acres and contain 5,000 plant species arranged in distinct geographical zones connected by winding paths and walkways.
Robert Marnock designed these gardens in 1836, which initially featured unusual attractions including monkey cages and a bear den for Victorian-era visitors.
The gardens provide educational programs throughout the year, including horticulture qualifications and specialized workshops in partnership with Sheffield College.
Visitors can access the gardens daily from 8:00 AM to 7:45 PM on weekdays and from 10:00 AM to 7:45 PM during weekends.
The gardens maintain the national collection of Sarcococca, Weigela, and Diervilla plant genera, showcasing these specimens in specialized display areas.
