Basilique Saint-Martin d'Aime

Saint-Martin Basilica features a central nave connected to a transept, with three apses and a crypt displaying Gallo-Roman artifacts.

The Romans established control of this area in 21 BC, renaming it Axima and making it the capital of Alpes Graies province.

The choir walls contain frescoes from the late 12th and early 13th centuries depicting scenes including the Creation and Massacre of Innocents.

From July 2 to August 31, visitors can explore the basilica through guided tours with specific admission fees for adults and children.

The basilica stands on foundations of a Roman civil structure and houses a stone museum exhibiting elements from an 11th-century church.
