Paradiski, Alpine ski area in Savoie, France
Paradiski links the resorts of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry, and La Plagne into a single large ski area spanning around 425 kilometers of slopes. The terrain ranges from 1200 to 3250 meters in elevation, with 160 lift systems and 258 marked runs for different skill levels.
Les Arcs and La Plagne developed separately starting in the 1960s as independent ski resorts. The opening of the Vanoise Express cable car in 2003 united these separate areas for the first time into one connected system.
The mountain lodges and restaurants throughout the region serve traditional Savoyard dishes like tartiflette and fondue that are part of local life. These meals bring people together in the villages during the winter months.
Beginners can find gentler slopes in the lower areas while more experienced skiers head to the higher elevations. Exploring such a large territory works best when you plan your route and locate your starting lifts before you begin skiing.
The Vanoise Express is a double-decker cable car that crosses over a valley connecting Plan Peisey and Les Coches. This design allows it to transport roughly 2000 people per hour, making it one of the fastest links between the two regions.
