Antica Forma, Italian pizzeria in downtown Moab, United States.
Antica Forma is an Italian pizzeria in downtown Moab, Utah, serving wood-fired pizzas with a thin, lightly charred base. Toppings are kept to a minimum on each pizza, and the fresh mozzarella used is made on site every day.
The restaurant opened in 2018 when Brock Smith brought his pizzeria concept from Vernal, another Utah town where he had already found success. He opened this second location together with his father Jody and friend Israel Tilta.
The menu stays close to how pizza is made in Italy, with simple toppings and dough that rises slowly before being stretched by hand. The mozzarella is made fresh on site each day, which gives the pizza a texture and taste that sets it apart from most places in the area.
The pizzeria sits in central Moab and is easy to reach on foot from most places in town. Opening hours can change depending on the season, so it is worth checking before you go.
One of the most popular pizzas on the menu pairs house-made pistachio pesto with Italian sausage, a combination that is hard to find at most pizzerias. The pesto is made in-house rather than bought in, which makes it noticeably different from a standard version.
