Xingú
Xingú is a restaurant in the Benimaclet neighborhood of Valencia that combines Brazilian cuisine with pizza. It has two separate rooms with warm, rustic decor and offers a menu ranging from traditional Brazilian dishes like feijoada to pizzas with fresh dough and both classic and unusual toppings.
The restaurant was founded by Germán, who moved to Brazil as a young man and spent many years there before returning to Valencia. He opened Xingú with his wife Otilia and their children, bringing his experience and knowledge of Brazilian cuisine to the city.
The restaurant takes its name from the Xingu River in Brazil, and the decor draws inspiration from indigenous styles of that region. Brazilian music plays in the background, and the warm, rustic design creates a space where visitors experience another culture through food and surroundings.
The restaurant is not very large and can get busy during peak hours, so it is advisable to visit during quieter times or request one of the separate rooms for groups. It is easy to find in the Benimaclet area and works well for casual dining, whether for lunch or dinner.
The restaurant creates special pizza variations like the Keka, which is folded in half and made with a crispy, light crust, and the Caipira with a thicker, homemade dough base. These pizzas differ noticeably from Italian versions and reflect Germán's blend of Brazilian and Italian traditions.
