Järnvägens Museum, Railway history museum in Ängelholm Municipality, Sweden.
Järnvägens Museum is a railway museum set inside a renovated locomotive shed from 1898 that spans almost 2,000 square meters (about 21,500 square feet). Visitors find steam locomotives, tools, signal systems, and equipment from different periods of railway history on display throughout the building.
The museum opened in 1998 after the Swedish Transport Administration converted a former locomotive maintenance facility into a public exhibition space. The municipality took over its management in 2012 and continues to operate it as a heritage site.
The museum shows how railways changed work and daily life for people across Sweden. The displays tell stories of workers, engineers, and travelers who used and shaped this transportation system.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday with extended hours during summer months and standard hours the rest of the year. Free admission applies to children, and the building is easily accessible on foot or by car from the town center.
A highlight for many visitors is the LOCOMOTION simulator, which lets people experience what it feels like to operate a train firsthand. The museum also features an extensive model railway system displaying both historical and modern trains in action.
