Järnvägens Museum Ängelholm, Railway museum in Ängelholm, Sweden.
Järnvägens Museum Ängelholm occupies a refurbished locomotive shed dating to 1898 and presents over 2,000 square meters of exhibition space. Visitors find railway signals, handcars, and steam locomotives on display throughout the building.
The museum was founded in 1998 under Banverket administration as a way to preserve Sweden's railway heritage. In 2012, it transitioned to municipal control and received its current name after previously operating as Banmuseet.
The exhibitions showcase objects belonging to railway workers and tell the stories of their daily lives and contribution to building Sweden's rail network. Visitors learn through personal accounts how these workers helped connect the country.
The museum operates during specific seasons, so it is wise to verify opening times before your visit. The building is easy to navigate and allows plenty of time to explore the displays at a comfortable pace.
The museum houses LOCOMOTION, an advanced train simulator where visitors can operate both historical and modern rail vehicles. This hands-on experience lets you understand what it feels like to control a locomotive.
