Dayeh Takashimaya, Department store in Sanyu Village, Taiwan.
Dayeh Takashimaya is a department store in Sanyu Village with twelve floors above ground and three basement levels providing over 39,600 square meters of retail space. The building includes extensive parking and a wide range of shops and restaurants distributed across multiple levels.
The store began in 1992 as a joint venture between Dayeh Group and Takashimaya. In 2016, Takashimaya withdrew from the partnership, leaving Dayeh Group as the sole operator.
The store houses Books Kinokuniya, Muji, and Jasons Market Place along with numerous themed restaurants that blend Japanese and Taiwanese shopping customs. This mix of shops and dining reflects how people in the area prefer to spend their time.
The store is open daily with extended hours that allow visitors to shop before or after work. Access by public transportation is straightforward since Mingde metro station is located nearby.
The Takashimaya name still appears on the building even though the Japanese company left years ago. This shows how brand identity continues to matter to customers visiting the store.
