Huaku Sky Garden, High-rise residential building in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan.
Huaku Sky Garden is a residential tower in the Shilin district of Taipei, rising to about 157 meters across 38 floors above ground. The building also has 4 basement levels and a total of 117 residential units.
The tower was completed in 2017, at a time when the Shilin district was undergoing noticeable urban renewal. It became the tallest residential building in the area at the time of its completion.
The facade displays patterns inspired by traditional Chinese lattice screens, which are visible from the street level. These metal details run across the exterior and frame the open balconies of each floor.
The building stands on Tianmu East Road in Shilin and is reachable by public transport without much difficulty. As it is a private residential building, access inside is limited to residents and their guests.
Each unit in the tower has a ceiling height of 7 meters, which is rare for a residential building of this type. Because of the dual orientation of the floors, most units look out onto both the Yangmingshan mountains and the Taipei city skyline at the same time.
