Daroco, Italian restaurant in 2nd arrondissement, Paris, France
Daroco is an Italian restaurant in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, set inside a former fashion boutique on Rue Vivienne. The dining room is large and open, with an open kitchen, green marble tables, concrete pillars, and a ceiling covered in diamond-shaped mirrors.
The restaurant opened in 2016 in a space that had previously been a Jean-Paul Gaultier flagship store near the Galerie Vivienne. The generous layout of the original shop was kept, giving the room its unusually open feel for a Paris restaurant.
Daroco serves Neapolitan-style pizzas with a light, airy crust typical of Naples, alongside handmade pasta prepared fresh each day. The menu draws on southern Italian cooking in a way that feels straightforward rather than theatrical.
The restaurant sits on Rue Vivienne, an easy part of central Paris to reach on foot or by metro. A reservation is recommended, as the room fills up quickly in the evenings even with its generous size.
The interior was designed by architects Olivier Delannoy and Francesca Errico, and won the Le Fooding Best Decor award in 2017. The mirror ceiling system was actually part of the original boutique concept and was not created specifically for the restaurant.
