Golf Club Patriziale Ascona

Golf Club Patriziale Ascona is an 18-hole course covering approximately 5947 meters with tight fairways, water obstacles, and sand traps near Lake Maggiore at 200 meters elevation. The layout combines natural terrain features with strategic challenges that test different aspects of a player's skill.

The course was designed in 1928 by architect Donald Harradine, who incorporated natural surroundings to create strategic challenges. His planned approach shaped how the terrain itself became part of the playing experience.

The club serves as a gathering place where members from across the region participate in tournaments and social events throughout the year. These occasions bring together people from different backgrounds in a Mediterranean setting.

Players must present a valid handicap certificate with a maximum limit of 30 and can use the driving range with 70 tees and practice areas. The best time to play depends on the season, as the course remains closed during winter months.

The course closes strategically during winter to maintain ideal playing conditions while the nearby Golf Gerre Losone stays open. This coordinated system allows players to continue golfing year-round in southern Switzerland.
