La Michaudière Horses Farm

La Michaudière is a horse farm in Normandy that houses about forty draft horses such as Percherons, Norman Cobs, and Bretons across a traditional orchard setting. The site features a restaurant serving local cuisine, covered picnic areas, and parking.

The agricultural buildings were restored in 1984 using traditional materials and methods after years of abandonment. The site transformed into a horse farm open to visitors in 1989.

The farm hosts daily riding demonstrations where horses perform traditional French farming techniques and show the skills used in rural work of the past.

The site operates regularly from April through October with ample parking and shaded picnic areas available for guests. A restaurant on the farm offers regional dishes if you want to eat during your visit.

The farm displays a collection of horse-drawn agricultural equipment spanning from the 1800s to modern times. Visitors can also view a miniature model of a village from 1920 that shows how rural life looked during that period.
