Kpatawee Waterfall, Natural cascade in Bong County, Liberia.

Kpatawee Waterfall consists of two separate cascades dropping along the Saint John River in the Suakoko District. Dense forest and dark boulders frame the falls in this remote area.

The area was originally used for farming before it became an ecotourism destination. A partnership initiative between Liberia and China shaped this transformation.

The waterfall serves as a gathering place where villagers come together for community activities and celebrations. It holds meaning as a space where local life unfolds naturally throughout the year.

An ecolodge on site offers accommodation in thatched-roof huts and camping tents, with a restaurant serving local cuisine. The location is roughly three hours from Monrovia, so advance planning is useful.

The site protects rare animal species like the Three-cusped Pangolin and Water Chevrotain in its forest environment. These endangered creatures find refuge in this protected area.
