OASI BIDEROSA Golfo Di Orosei, Protected coastal park in Sardinia, Italy

OASI Biderosa is a protected coastal park on eastern Sardinia featuring five sandy bays backed by pine and juniper woodland that descends to turquoise water. The reserve covers approximately 860 hectares of Mediterranean terrain with connected coves and sheltered valleys throughout.

The park was established in the 1970s as a pioneering effort to protect the eastern Sardinian coast through controlled access and conservation measures. This early initiative helped prevent overdevelopment and preserve the natural character of the coastline.

The name Biderosa comes from Sardinian and refers to mineral-rich waters that give the landscape its distinctive character. Local families from Orosei have long regarded these coves as part of their heritage and identity.

Entry requires advance booking with vehicle numbers limited each day to protect the environment. Plan to arrive early and wear sturdy shoes, as trails wind through hilly terrain with uneven surfaces and vegetation.

Walking trails connect the five coves while bordering the sa Curcurica lagoon, creating natural viewing points for migratory and resident bird species. These pathways reveal hidden forest sections and smaller clearings that most visitors overlook when exploring only the beaches.
