Oasis de Bidderosa, Protected beach in Gulf of Orosei, Italy
The nature reserve spans 860 hectares along the eastern Sardinian coast, featuring five coves with white sand beaches and emerald waters.
Local environmental groups initiated protection efforts in the 1980s, leading to the official establishment of the nature reserve in 1999 through WWF Italy.
The reserve maintains traditional Sardinian land management practices, integrating nature conservation with controlled tourism access to preserve local heritage.
Daily visitor numbers are limited to 1500 people, with advance booking required for entrance tickets available online or at Orosei tourist office.
The lagoon of Sa Curcurica within the reserve provides a natural habitat for numerous migratory and resident bird species throughout the year.
