Arenauta, Natural beach in Gaeta, Italy.

Arenauta is a natural beach in Gaeta featuring fine golden sand and clear waters sheltered by limestone cliffs near Torre Sant'Agostino. The shoreline stretches along a protected cove enclosed by steep rocky walls on either side.

During the 1970s, this remote beach escaped commercial development because access was severely limited by steep mountain paths. This isolation became a defining characteristic that shaped its identity for decades to come.

The southern section of this beach hosts a naturist area that has been established for decades and remains popular with a specific community. Visitors can experience a relaxed and accepting environment that reflects local beach culture.

Access to the beach is via a paid staircase of approximately 300 steps, requiring physical effort and time from visitors. Wearing appropriate footwear and arriving during daylight hours is advisable for the descent.

The position nestled between rocky cliffs provides natural shelter from strong coastal winds, a feature visitors often overlook. This geographic advantage creates more comfortable conditions and extends the swimming season compared to other nearby coves.
