Severiano Ballesteros designed this first Costa del Sol golf course in 1991, integrating natural landscapes with technical challenges throughout the layout. The course established new standards for golf course development in the region.

Holes six, seven, and eight form a sequence known as the Spanish version of Amen Corner, challenging players with narrow fairways and elevation changes. These three consecutive holes rank among the most difficult sections of the entire course.
