Almenara Golf Resort

Almenara Golf Resort near San Roque features 27 holes arranged in three separate layouts: Los Lagos, Los Pinos, and Los Alcornoque, each winding through Mediterranean forest. Two large lakes are built into the course and shape much of the playing experience.

Golf architect Dave Thomas designed the course as part of the Sotogrande residential development in the region. The project worked with the natural terrain to create a layout that fits within the Mediterranean landscape.

The course draws players from around the world who come to enjoy sport in a setting that reflects local Mediterranean life. Golf here is part of the lifestyle of the nearby residential community.

The course is open daily for play and offers golf buggies and bag collection services at the clubhouse entrance. The climate is typically dry and sunny, so visitors should bring sun protection and plenty of water.

On clear days, players can see Africa, Gibraltar Rock, and the Sierra Nevada mountains from various points on the course. This vista creates moments where sport and landscape merge in an unexpected way.
