Golf Club Varese, 18-hole golf course in Luvinate, Italy.
Golf Club Varese is an 18-hole course with fairways on rolling hills and elevated tees that offer views toward Lake Varese and the Monte Rosa range. The layout alternates between open playing areas and wooded sections.
The club was founded in 1897 and moved to this location in 1934, designed according to classical principles by architects Blanford, Gannon, Dassu, and Harradine. This layout has remained largely unchanged since its creation.
The clubhouse sits in a former Benedictine monastery from the 1300s, with a restored cloister where 16th-century frescoes are still visible. Players walk past these religious spaces and artworks while moving between holes.
The course opens daily and provides equipment rentals along with practice facilities including a driving range for all skill levels. The clubhouse includes changing rooms, showers, and a dining area.
The course features natural water hazards running through the land and strategically placed bunkers that define almost every hole. These natural features make each hole a distinct challenge.
