Golfe des Vigiers, Golf course in Monestier, France
This golf complex spreads across 150 hectares with three separate 9-hole layouts, each surrounded by vineyards, forests, and water features. The design uses the natural terrain and vegetation to create different playing experiences on each course.
English architect Donald Steel designed this 27-hole complex in 1992, establishing it as a major golf destination in the region. The placement within the local wine country was intentional from the start.
The course runs through local farming landscapes, with holes passing by plum orchards, oak forests, and traditional wine estates of the Dordogne. You notice how these elements shape the way you play as you move through the grounds.
Training facilities including a covered driving range, practice bunkers, and a dedicated putting area are available year-round. Visitors should prepare for varied terrain and wear comfortable golf shoes suitable for the different course conditions.
The property offers three different 18-hole combinations, with one course finishing directly in front of a classical French château. This finish creates a memorable final moment as you play the last hole.
