Golf de La Wantzenau, Golf course in La Wantzenau, France
Golf de La Wantzenau is a golf facility near the Rhine with two courses where the landscape feels natural and varied. The main course has 18 holes stretching across 75 hectares with water hazards and different terrain sections, while a secondary 12-hole course offers an alternative.
The golf facility was founded in 1991 by architects Jeremy Pern and Jean Garaïalde and deliberately incorporates the natural features of the Alsatian landscape. The land was shaped to integrate the existing riverine environment into its design.
The golf club hosts regular tournaments and competitions throughout the year for players of all skill levels. These events shape the rhythm of play and attract both local and visiting golfers.
The facility is located around 10 kilometers from Strasbourg and is open daily, with space for both beginners and experienced golfers. Besides the two courses, a practice area with covered and grass hitting zones serves players preparing for their round.
The course was deliberately laid out along the Rhine, with the river's waterways forming natural hazards across several holes. This geographical feature makes each visit a game played within the region's natural setting.
