Зоопарк
The Hadzhidimovo Zoo is a small facility on a hillside with freely roaming animals including deer, fallow deer, goats, peacocks, swans and rabbits. Visitors can feed and pet the animals directly without fences or barriers between them.
The zoo was established as a local initiative to bring visitors close to animals and showcase local biodiversity. The adjacent monastery dates from the 13th century and was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt during Ottoman rule.
The zoo sits next to a historic monastery perched on a hilltop, and together they function as a cultural hub for the area. Visitors can walk freely among deer, fallow deer, goats, peacocks, swans and rabbits that roam without barriers.
The zoo is completely free to visit and sits on a hillside just about 50 meters from the monastery. Visitors should bring bread or feed to interact with the animals and get closer to them.
Children can ride ponies here, an activity not commonly offered in many zoos. This blend of free animal access and direct riding opportunities makes the place especially interesting for families with small children.
