Jurafaune

Jurafaune is a bird park and zoo located in Granges-sur-Baume and Hauteroche, featuring multiple species of raptors in spacious enclosures. Visitors walk a shaded educational trail that passes naturalistic habitats for eagles, falcons, owls, and vultures.

The park was founded as an organization dedicated to protecting wildlife in the Jura mountains. Peregrine falcon populations were specifically targeted for recovery and today represent a success of regional conservation efforts.

Flying demonstrations showcase raptors in action while naturalists explain their behaviors and the region's conservation work to visitors. These experiences blend education with genuine connection to local bird life.

The facility is best visited on weekdays or early mornings when it is less crowded and birds are more active. The educational trail is relatively flat with good paths, though the shade provides relief on warmer days.
