Phra Ruang Hot Springs
Phra Ruang Hot Springs is a natural site in Kamphaeng Phet Province where warm water bubbles up from underground. The area features simple pathways and benches where visitors can soak in the clear, mineral-rich pools that range from 45 to 60 degrees Celsius (113 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit).
This site is also known as Bungsap or Buddha Rung Hot Springs and has been in use for many years. According to legend, King Rung created the springs in his youth to clean a wild chicken he had caught.
The springs hold significance in local tradition as a place of healing and wellness. Visitors come to soak, drink the water, or take some home, as many believe in the health benefits of the mineral-rich water.
The site is located about 20 to 25 kilometers from town and is marked by signs; bring swimwear, towels, and drinking water with you. Changing areas and basic facilities are available on-site, making it suitable for a few hours of relaxation.
According to legend, the water sprang forth when a king wished to clean a wild chicken through magical means. This story is deeply embedded in local folklore and gives the place a mystical significance beyond its physical properties.
