Oro Natural Pool

Oro Natural Pool is a natural swimming area at the Isle of Pines with clear water surrounded by coral formations. The depth reaches three to four meters and supports populations of tropical fish species.

The Isle of Pines was settled by Kanak people who used this natural basin for fishing and community life for many generations. The site represents an important part of traditional practices that shaped the island's social fabric.

The pool holds special meaning for locals as a gathering space where connection to the sea remains part of everyday life. People come here not only to swim but also to pass down knowledge about the marine world to younger generations.

Access to the site follows a marked path from the Le Meridien hotel parking area. Visitors should bring swimwear, sun protection, and water, as shade is limited throughout the site.

Sea turtles visit the pool regularly and can be observed while swimming or diving in the area. These encounters often become the most memorable moment of a visit to this natural site.
