Parc Départemental de Pichauris, Natural park in Allauch, France
Parc Départemental de Pichauris is a large nature reserve in Allauch featuring steep cliffs, rolling hills, and interconnected walking paths. Dense forests of pine and oak cover most of the terrain, creating shaded corridors for exploration.
The Department of Bouches-du-Rhône acquired this land in 2006 to protect its natural environment and open it to the public. This purchase became a turning point for organized preservation and recreational use of the area.
Artists create temporary installations throughout the space during summer months that interact with the natural surroundings. These works appear specifically designed to blend with the landscape, encouraging visitors to notice art within nature.
The area is accessible via the RD 908 road toward Peypin and Cadolive, with free parking at the RD46a intersection. Clear signage helps visitors locate main entrances and trailheads without difficulty.
The grounds contain several fountains and natural springs scattered along the pathways that guide visitors toward an overlook point. From this vantage point, the Sainte-Victoire mountain range becomes visible across the landscape.
