The Butte de Warlencourt is an earthen rise on the Somme battlefield that commands views across the surrounding terrain. A memorial stone and information boards stand at the summit, allowing visitors to understand the position's strategic importance.
German forces built strong defensive works on this rise and used it as an artillery observation post during World War I. British forces made repeated attacks to capture it, finally succeeding in late 1916 after intense fighting.

A marked pathway with handrails provides access to the summit, with benches positioned at intervals for visitors to rest. Sturdy footwear is recommended, especially during wet conditions when the ground can be muddy.
The Western Front Association purchased and protected this site in 1990 to preserve its historical and archaeological value. This action made it one of the few privately maintained memorial sites along the Somme battlefields.
