Courcelette Memorial is a granite monument set on a circular stone terrace surrounded by maple trees and hedge gardens arranged along Y-shaped pathways. The site sits beside the D929 road just south of Courcelette village in northern France.
The memorial marks the Battle of Flers-Courcelette in September 1916, when Canadian troops advanced approximately two kilometers from where they started. This offensive became a turning point for the campaign along the Western Front.
