Réserve naturelle du Méjean

The Méjean lagoon served as an economic center during the Middle Ages, supporting fishing and hunting activities until the 20th century.

The reserve organizes meetings with local fishermen to educate visitors about traditional fishing methods and environmental conservation practices.

Visitors can access the reserve through multiple marked trails, including a 2.5-kilometer path designed for people with mobility limitations.

The protected area houses two native aquatic turtle species: the European pond turtle and the Mediterranean pond turtle.
