Le Nuage

Le Nuage is a leisure and business complex in the Port Marianne district with a translucent outer shell made of ETFE plastic material. The modern building contains a swimming pool, fitness areas, restaurants, beauty salons, and various other services arranged across multiple levels.

The building was designed by Starck and opened in 2014 as Europe's first inflatable private structure of its kind. It marked a turning point in the city's approach to modern architecture and supported the development of the Port Marianne district.

The building brings together different spaces for dining, wellness, and business activities that locals use throughout their day. It functions as a social hub where people gather for fitness classes, meals, and personal care services.

The building has several entrances and is accessible for pedestrians, especially from the nearby train station. The different services are spread across multiple floors, so it helps to check the directory or follow the signage on your first visit.

The outer shell is made of inflated chambers that allow the building to expand and contract slightly with temperature changes. This system makes it energy-efficient and creates large interior spaces without traditional support columns.
