La Casa di Bepi Suà

The exterior walls of La Casa di Bepi Suà display geometric patterns in bright colors including orange, blue, yellow, red, green, and violet.

Giuseppe Toselli, born in 1920 as the fourth of five children, started decorating his house facade with geometric designs during the 1960s.

The house represents the tradition of painting residences in bright colors, which helped Burano fishermen recognize their homes when returning from sea.

Visitors can reach La Casa di Bepi Suà by taking a water bus from Venice to Burano island and walking through the neighborhood streets.

Each day, Bepi would repaint sections of the wall with different colors and figures, while also walking his pet chicken through local streets.
